The application deadline is tracked separately from the date you applied, so looking back later can actually answer a real question: does applying right when a posting opens beat waiting until close to the deadline, or does it not matter much at all?
Mark it as coming through a recruiter and their name and contact stay attached to that one application. Not ready to apply yet? Add it to the Watchlist instead, tracked the same way, just kept out of the main garden and season stats until you actually submit it.

If you choose to share a garden, visitors only ever see that something is growing and roughly how it's doing, never the details behind it. Visitors never need an account of their own, either - leaving a small gift in someone else's garden is always free and anonymous if you want it to be.
